Jay's Miniature Steam Engines

My name is Jay and I live in Southampton in the South of England.
As a young boy I always had a keen interest in Classic cars and thoughtout my adult life I have owned several Morris Minors.
Like many other kids of my era I was not allowed expensive toys such as live steam engines but I was lucky enough to have several Dinky Toy cars
(if only I had hung on to them)

At this present moment I own a 1967 4 door saloon which I call "Mildred".
I have owned her for the past 4 years and she has served me well, I have given her an upgrade with a 1275cc Morris Marina Engine and a five speed Ford Siera gearbox.

So what got me into Steam Engines?

As a classic car owner I go to a lot of Classic Car Shows which often incoporates Steam Shows/Events and as time went on I found myself drawn into live steam engines but in the knowledge that I could never afford a full scale size traction engine.
At such an event one day I came across a guy who had a wonderful display of Mamods on his table, it was at this point I became hooked on Minature Steam.
My first engine was a 1960's Mamod SE2A, since then my collection has grown from an early 1908 Bing upto a 2009 Mamod Showsman Engine.
